Day 5 and 6 done – feeling sickeningly effective

A really quick one just to say that all good. Yesterday and today I did the full shebang – meditate, exercise, check bank balances (not good), planned my days (and stuck to plans), didn’t drink and all around got A LOT DONE. Seriously, this no-boozing business does wonders for my productivity. I feel like my brain has gone from this:

to this:

I am, however, eating a lot of cake. My half-hearted pledge to eat less sugar has not materialised. Yet. Oh well, you wouldn’t like me if I was too perfect, would you?

PS – If you follow me on FB you might have seen this yesterday. My friend Mary shared it with me and I think it’s great. It’s how Jerry Seinfeld became a hugely successful comedy writer by using an old fashioned calendar and red crosses:

CIAO FOR NOW! KEEP DROPPING ME NOTES TO TELL ME HOW YOU’RE DOING? OTHERWISE I’LL FEEL SAD AND REJECTED AND ALONE. MANIPULATIVE, MOI?!

TOMORROW I’LL BE DOING A POST ON THE SECOND HABIT OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE… I KNOW, BET YOU CAN’T WAIT. YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT WITH EXCITEMENT…

Good Grief, where did you get the picture of my bedroom? Can’t see a German Shepherd in it though, he must be hiding under the bed

Uh, I haven’t been all that effective today. No class, no veg (although it’s coming up). Had building work in my place, made it difficult to concentrate.
I know when I go off coffee for any length of time I find myself craving sweets, probably as a substitute addiction. I did do some overdue cleaning, but somehow today felt ‘blah’.
Your day sounds absolutely fantastic 🙂

Yay for your lovely, clear, effective head! A beacon of motivation 🙂

Last night I both washed dishes and put away clothes (my 2 bare minimums) and had my 2nd healthy shake of the week instead of pizza. So check and check.

Still doing Whole30. Feeling GREAT. I love how good I feel when I eat nothing but real food! Skin is glowing and clear which is a bonus too since I normally have bad skin.

Applied for 2 jobs this year (meeting my quota) but really feel like forcing myself through mud to do them. Haven’t applied for any writing stuff.

    And well done you!

P.S> Love the Seinfield productivity tip. I find it to be true in my life. If I miss a day, it becomes easier to miss another and before you know it I’ve missed 6 months. There is something just so gosh darn satisfying about crosses on a calendar!

It’s a good one, Michelle, isn’t it? Really simple. So inspired by your Whole30 experience, when I have a better diet my skin is always the first thing to improve. Keep going with the job applications, what can you do to make you feel more excited and inspired about it? A bit of affirmations/visualisation around your dream job? Mx

I’ve stuck with Atkins for a ONE WHOL E week without fail, or deviation…. lost 6 1/2 lbs. Had a headache for a lot of it, but I gather that’s normal. I had my daughter come over yesterday to be brutal and help me cull my wardrobe. Since the spring when I first started feeling poo I’ve lost nearly 2 stone, and some stuff is just swamping me :O Fortunately she’s also just chucked a load of stuff out, and her things now fit me, so I’m wandering around in my 24 year olds clothes, good job I raised the with impeccable taste 😉

I can see life without potatoes might be possible, but not fruit or carrots. One more week and I can add a few things back into the diet.
